Good Beer Weekend and more snow clearing

This was a good weekend for Beer. First I had my Fosters for our party Friday night. The party went well it was Amy/ Chris, Rowan/ Peter and Sarah/ Me. Sarah made yummy Enchiladas and then we watched two Family Guy episodes while our food settled. Then we broke out the DDR and everybody enjoyed that. Sarah had me get the Karaoke machine out which kind of killed the mode but I think people were ready to leave by then, 12am. Lightweights! Peter and I got a couple runs in on SSX3.

Saturday we went to Shannon and Rich's. I am not a very good conversationalist and they tend to talk of more serious matters. I didn't really have anything to talk about so I felt kind of bad. Rich did have some good pale ales and made some good Pizza from scratch. I thought that the beer would loosen me up a bit and I could talk a bit easier but nothing was happening. I get accused of being rude when I am not chatty but I am just shy and only really get chatty when something comes up that I have good knowledge of...

Sunday we ran out to Target in the morning. With the iPod shuffle coming out it seems that the other flash based mp3 players are starting to come down. I had my eye on the Rio Forge 256 for $123. I have put 3 star wars plates on eBay that may get me $60+ so I will have to keep an eye on eBay for the Rio Forge 128. It seems to go for about $40 to $60 +$12 for shipping. Sunday afternoon we went up to Sarah's parents to watch some Family guy. Gryphon watched Toy Story for the first time and did not seem to impressed. its not something we would normally let him watch but, we needed a good distraction so we could watch family guy. Oh, I had some Negro something beer there. about 3, its a decent  Mexican beer.

Today for lunch I went and worked at clearing the mini-ramp. I did not think I would get far but I just about cleared the whole ramp. If I had a shovel I could clear a path to the ramp. I go back tomorrow and see if the ice melted of the one side that was not in direct sun light.

No go with the Memory, to cold to dig and DDR party

Well the memory kate got did not work in her machine. I am not sure why maybe the bios is to old to handle it? pishhh. I told her to send it back or I would swap her 2 64mg chips for the 128.

It's to cold to try to dig the ramp out today. I'm sure that ice is starting to form...bummer looks like it might be awhile till my next session...may the township will dig the park out.

DDR Party. Well what started as inviting Chris and Amy over for some adult electronic fun, DDR on the PS2, movies and what have-you, and food and beverages, may turn out to be a small party. We invited Amber/Jim, David/Rebecca, Rowan/Peter and Kyle/Kristin. We are shipping G of to GG-Moms so with just Ruby to look out for it should be fun no matter who comes.

Good Weekend Plans! So we have the DDR party Friday. Then, Saturday, off to Shannon and Riches for dinner and chatting and G will love to play with Tucker and Jhoana...errr sorry, I can't seem to spell it. On Sunday we hope to use our Rock Bottom gift card and my free appitizer card for some Nachoes, beer and dinner/ lunch. Maybe Ill get a session in at the Vans mini ramp too. (King of Prussia Mall)

Two Reasons to buy a Snow Shovel, memory and family guy.

REASON ONE:
So I go to the park to clear the mini off today. There was about a foot of wet SNOW covering the park and a good deal of the mini. It's no problem to clear the ramp of the fluffy stuff but the wet snow really slowed me down. I did about a quarter of the ramp complete with a slice straight across the flat. I only had my old BOARD and the broken rolling mop thing to work with. I probably could have done it with a real SHOVEL. Maybe I'll go back again tomorrow, it's not like I have anything better to do.

REASON TWO:
I have no shovel at home. So apparntly the Mail Man is a wimp and wont take a couple of steps through unplowed snow to deliver our mail. i used a broom last night to clear a path for him. Pishh, what ever happened to "nor snow, nor sleet nor freezing rain will keep them from delivering the mail" or something like that. Faah, and now I find out I should tip this guy who probably makes more than i do, phishhhh, yhea right!

Anyway, I am off to Kates tonight to install memory again. Hopefully I was right before and the last one she got was broken somehow.

I fell asleep last night after reading G his stories. I woke up at 11:30 and was planning on going back to bed. Sarah was asleep on the couch with Ruby and woke up when I came out. We then watched family guy till about 3am... I'll always stay up with Sarah and do something fun since she has been falling asleep early and I miss doing stuff with her.

Snow , Super Bowl and other things

The Eagles won the NFC Championship. It will be there first SuperBowl in 24 years and only there 2nd ever. Very cool!

Mini's good to go, Peerflix

Well, as I thought the mini was nice and dry for me today and it did not look as if anybody else had skated.

I signed up wit the Peerflix online dvd swaping thing. You list dvds you are willing to trade and then you send them when the system emails you. And you request dvds too. Neat we will see how my free trial goes.

Plow today, skate tomorrow.

The mini and the park were covered with about an inch or two of snow. I found the rolling mop thing and cleaned off the mini and it may have even dried before I left. I was reading the mullen book and didnt get back out to check. So I should get in a session tomorrow. Sounds like there is a storm brewing for the weekend so I may have to be plowing next monday too.

I need to figure out how to get my pictures linked correctly. I twould be fun to put some snowy park pics up.

Funny how the less money I have the more I look at stuff to buy....man I want an mp3 player and a bigger hard drive...hmmm..what can I sell...

Blah, snow.

Snow
Well its snowing pretty good. I have a feeling the park will be unskateable for a couple days. I'll go plow it tomorrow. I spent lunch reading the mullen book, good stuff. It's neat to read what he was doing as I was starting skating and progressing.

Cool skateboard graphics book to add to my Amazon Wish ListDisposable The Book

Disposable The Book

FFX-2, Eagles, cold skating

FFX-2
Sarah exchanged her Mortla Kombat game for FFX-2. She was a bit unsure of it at first but she seems to be into it now.

Eagles
They made it to the Championship game...again. Lets hope they can get over the hump vs the Falcons!

Cold skateing
I braved the frigid temps and skated yesterday. the weather is nothing once you are out there rolling. Today has chances of snow showers so we will see how it goes. my bushings were all frozen yesterday. I even did some Mullen-esque tricks.

What a week...

Let’s see it started actually when we got the HP1315 printer and had to sell our scanner and printer to make up the 30 bucks we spent over our Xmas money.
Last Friday:
-I mess up with Netflix and end up getting a real membership.
-The printer sells for $25.
Saturday:
-The box I had for the Printer is too small; I had to wait till Monday to ship it.
-I sell the CPU for 50(20 goes to Netflix)
-I think we went to the birthday party and I got SSX3 with my Target GC.
Sunday
-We switch up the back room moving the PC to the small desk and Sarah’s crafts to the big desk.
-we go to Sarah’s parents.
Monday (now the fun starts)
-I take the printer to UPS to pack and ship they charge me $38! I way under estimated the shipping and the rest of my CPU money goes into the shipping!
-I miss skating while doing all of this shipping.
Tuesday:
-I wrote about the skating in light snow already.
-The printer and the robot picture sell
Wednesday:
-the Nissan seems to be having problems
-Its too wet to skate, it was spitting a bit so I didn’t bother trying to dry the ramp.
Thursday:
-The Nissan is ok, whew.
-I need a bigger box for the scanner and just as I am about to mail the robots poster the power goes out at the Post Office.
-Still to misty to dry the ramp
-Rowan and peter come over and share some cheese bread and goodies with us.
Friday:
-The person who bought the CPU says it’s dead and wants her money back. Of course I do not have her money or even any of my own money to give back to her.
-The freaking scanner costs $ 19 to ship again eating some of my money...
-Sounds like G's gym class went well
Ok back to work....

Can't catch a break...

Well Sarah called and said that the car was spewing smoke and chugging and smelling like sulfur. I called an made an appointment to have it looked at. Man, I hope its just an adjustment they need to make. F!

I went to the Park but it was still wet and it was misting so I didnt bother with trying to dry the ramp. i read more of Mullens book instead.

I hate these freaking money problems. I internalize the stress and it comes out in teh form of my junk food resistance wheres down and I stay up late...I just need a chance to get things together, its like one big event after another. I wish I could jut go home and play SSX3 all night and then goto bed or mess with the capture card...

I got the first of my real netflix account dvds today. I am going to make the most out of my $19. 2 family guys and THX1138. i hope to buy thx1138 at some point.

I also decided to rent and burn the Star wars trilogy. I think I'll do the same with Episode three. My thinking is that they will put out a 8 disk or so box set. I would buy that. Then at somepoint when G is ready, and heck then again when Ruby is ready I want to have an all day Star Wars movie fest!!

Oh well, one thing at a time....

No Slip Ramps, well ok, almost No Slip Ramps...

As soon as I got to the skatepark today a small snow shower started. One of the bikers said it had been doing that off and on. The ramps was spotted with small wt marks but I dropped in anyway. to my surprise the ramp stuck really good. A couple of my smith grinds got away from me but only when my wheels would slip on the deck and unlock from the smith. Coming in from the smiths though my wheels stuck fine on the ramp. i still took it easy. I practiced the fakie disasters and even pulled a fakie disaster and thn popped it into a smith. I slammed a few more times than normal because of the wetness. toward the end it started to come down heavy. I would pump and then do a slide accross the flat bottom to fakie...that waas alot of fun to. I also pulled of some sort of backside nollie thing. A fun session over-all.

sarah and I watched Anchorman. Pretty funny , abit odd a some points but it didn't suck.

Netflix catches on, weekEnd update

Blah...When I was trying to sign up for my third free trial with Netflix, I messed up and signed up some how. Luckaly I also sold that old 900mhz cpu for $50. So I'll just get a bunch of movies I've been meaning to see that I haven't seen for a while. Unless they give in to my plea that I messed up while trying to sign up for the free trial and refund my money.

My capture card came Friday. I hooked it up and pulled out an old VCR next to the computer. I stupidly put in one of my old Skate VHS tapes and the thing proceded to eat the tape!!! I was reall ygental and pulled it out with out breaking it. I then put another tape in to test it and it ate that to. So decided to hook up the good VCR to the pc and use the junk vcr for the PS2 and tv. It turns out the trash VCR didnt have all the hooks ups. So i was stumped for a minute and then relised that I already had all the AV cables running from the PC to TV area. I just switched everything so that instaead of AV comeing from the PC to the TV it wwent from the VCR to the PC, ROCK'N! Now I just have to become a Video capture/editor pro, more on that as i get the kinks worked out. The old VCR is in the TRASH. How dare it ruin my old tapes...

We packed alot in this weekend.
-Saturday:To target and used my giftcard for SSX3 for the PS2, tons of fun!!!. Then to Barnes and Noble for a B-Day present. we got Cloudy with a chance of meatballs for Gavin and also picked up a neat mythology book for G. Then Me and G went to Ambers for Gavins birthday. G just played with all the balloons most of the time. I returned them there cleaned out , old PC. Sarah and Ruby went to Kates for her 6month exam and pap. We chilled the rest of the night with SSX3. We even let G play a couple times.
-Sunday: With the house being the mess it is we decided to switch the computer to the smaller desk and Sarahs stuff to the big computer desk. Now that we dont need the 2nd computer to run the scanner(we got that 3-in-1 hp1315). The tower and monitor fit on the desk and the Hp fits on the shelf. The hardest part for me was re running the AV cables under the rug across the doorway. After taht we headed up to Sarahs parents for dinner and Sarah scrapped. i had some beers and DL some awsone Rodney Mullen footage from rodneymullen.net.

i have to UPS the printer at lunch today so no skateing for me.

Couple day catch-up...

Well the Stanza needed a new Fuel injector to the cost of $360, pffft. There goes half the rent and food money...blah. Now we are screwed for the rest of the month trying to cath up and starving.

I used my amazon gift money to get a video capture card. It has tons of good reviews and sounds like it does just want I need, that is get stuff off of old VHS and VHSc tapes and onto dvds and cds. AverMedia EZMaker DVD PCI is the card. It got here in only two days via TigerDirect.com. Thats my new project then. I'll be so happy to get my old home skate VHS footage into digital. Plus we can free up a ton of Gryphons VHSc tapes for Ruby.

I dried the mini off enough to skate on Tuesday and then it rained hard wednesday and Thursday. Today it was nice and dry though. I am working on stand up 5-0s and disasters. Josh was there a bit until his tail bit him on the shin. The ledge skater was tehre and a kid who was really good at flip tricks. Its amazing what people can do.

I still have $25 at Target. I want to get SSX Tricky 3 or a watch...not to seem greedy but I have not scene the normal gift from G-pop-hamilton. Not to mention any wishes from my parents, thats odd. Id like to get another hard drive...

Dr. Tammy hooked up with registar so now I can get her site back up.

New projects: VHS to DVD, Tammy's site and wipe clean and reinstall the current (or new) hard drives.

Free Night and todays skate

When I got home last night I got a call fro sarah saying that she was going to stay the night at her parents because the fog was really bad around Green Lane. So I planned on a night of SSX Tricky and Cleaning. Well that didnt go as planned. I ate and played SSX for a while and then took a break , put the diapers in and started on the bathroom. sarah called as she was getting ready for bed and said she was freaked out in the basement. i talked to her for about an hour an a half. That threw off my little schedual. i finsihed the bathroom, SSX'ed for a bit then did the check book. I was going to put stuff on eBay but Sarah had taken the digital camera. I finnally decided to go to bed after finishing up more laundry. I was planning to wake early, 4:30 and do dishes and straighten up.
The alarm went off and I reset it for 5:30. The alarm went off and I must have turned it off thought about what I had to do and then fell asleep. i woke at 7:00. i was supposed to meet Sarah at the garage at 7!!. I rushed out and beat her to the garage anyway. House was still a mess...

We still haven't heard from the Garage. We did hear from Ellie about the late payments for the Nissan. i knew this would be a problem at some point too. I am doing the best I can with things.

Skatepark
It was rainy this morning but, I know that the mini dries fast. It hadn't rained since i came in and the parking lots were starting to dry so I headed over. The green lot was all wet but the mini only had a couple small puddles-no match for a towel and a couple minutes. I skated by myself and then read some of Rodney Mullens book.

New Years, Birthday,Skateing and all in one

New Years Eve / My Birthday
Sarah made me a chocolote cake. It was all organic, not a soft as the crap filled cake mixes but still very good. Thanks baby! She also ordered me a ring with the element skateboard companies logo on it. It's not like I am a big Element supporter but its hard to find a ring with a tree on it that looks cool. Sarahs parents also gifted me with a amazon gift card for $40. I am on this kick that I need an MP3 player. I dont want, ok I cant afford a 40gig mp3 player. i will not use the thing a ton right now so I dont want to spend to much but I do want a decent one. RIO had a 128mb player that ou can expand on with flash cards up to 1 gig. Thats my target. If I come across some lost BD money maybe I'll go for it. My parents didnt call to wish a happy birthday...odd.
Everybody fell asleep so I played SSX Tricky and woke Sarah up for a kiss at midnight.

The search for an all-in-one-printer
we decided to through the $50 from g-mom into a printer-copier-scanner. I was looking at pricewatch.com and saw the lexmark for @48 shipped. The more i read though the more I noticed that none of them came with ink. The ink is like 30 bucks more. So we abondond that idea and went to look at best buy. They all seemed @$100 and up. Thats to much. We are planning on selling our current Scanner and printer to make up anything over the $50. So then we went to Walmart and Circuit City. As a last ditch attempt I stopped at the new Office Depot. i walked in and started down the row seeing the regular $100+price tags. Then at the end of the row I saw a sale item, HP1315 for $78 normally $98. Whoo hoo. I took up the box and it rang up at 98. I had to go back and show the manager the sale slip. He grabed it up and I heard him aying that it ended yesterday under his breath. Good for me! He still gave it to me. Now we just have to try to manage 30 bucks from the old printer and scanner...which after some research might not happen. At least we can just use the main PC to scan now and it will free up some rome on the desk. The emachine is haveing some problems anyway.

Skatepark
i skated today. i got soem little fakie slides in. It was lsow today, signs that all the visting college kids had gone back to school and that regular school were back...the holidays are over.

We are taking the Nissan in to have the gas smell checked out, that should be the next major drama.
