SlyFox Pikeland Pils

First from the beer swap. Not a fan of this one. I have a feeling that pilsners are not my thing.

Office Beer Swap

We had an beer swap after work today at the office. About 20 people brought a case of beer. Every body got one of each beer then the rest were picked in a couple rounds and you could trade as well. Good fun a a good variety pack was the result.

Banging the Boulders in Ringing Rocks...

We went to Ringing Rocks this weekend. It's only about 30 minutes from our house and it's possible that I went here as a child since this is the kind of place my Dad would have taken my sister and I as children.

I am kind of surprised that you can still take hammers here and bang away at the rocks. I mean, you can see the rocks chipping away as you whack them. I could easily imagine the county roping off a section of the boulder field that you can hit, while saving the other parts of it for climbing around on. Its not really that big of a space, its kind of like a squat hour glass with one river of rocks poking out the side.

We had a good time and it is really cool how differnt the rocks can sound. Most of the time you can find the cool sounding rocks by looking for the rocks that look like they have taken a beating over the years (the white spots in the pictures) but you can also find less hit rocks that make some really high tones.
I found some really good "pools" that would have been great for finger boarding too but forgot mine (I almost always have it on me).

Image on the left is looking down from the entrance.

Looking up from the bottom.

A perfect keyhole for fingerboarding...

Fegley's Brewworks Devious Imperial Pumpkin

Tasted Before?: Yes. First tasted in  2010 but in a larger bottle.

Pumpkin Taste: My god... yes.

Pumpkin Smell: Yes

Overall: Great, I was happy to find this in the smaller bottle and hope to find the big bottles as well.

America's Original Pumpkin Ale

Tasted Before?: 2nd time review. First one was in 2010.

Design:They changed up the text layout but otherwise it's the same bad pumpkin graphic.

Color: Looks like pumpkin pie

Pumpkin Taste: Yes, but not strong.

Pumpkin Smell: Very lite

Overall: Not bad, this one was more carbonated than I remember.

Buy again? I wouldn't buy a case and I wouldn't go searching for this one (there are some that I would search for), but I might pick up a single again.

Lakefront Brewery's Pumpkin Lager Beer

Tasted Before?: First time on my blog.

Pumpkin Smell: Very pumpkin pie like.

Overall: Not bad, I tend to like the darker pumpkins.

Buy again? I wouldn't buy a case and I wouldn't go searching for this one (there are some that I would search for), but I might pick up a single again.
