Very smooth productive weekend...

Friday- Took the train home, ran from the train station to Giant to beat the rain, Sarah picked me up there. Got home, put fuel in the heater oil tank, bled the line and started the furnace - yea heat and hot water again.

Saturday- Got more fuel for heater, glued the rear view mirror back on in the van, picked up a new to us dryer and then got it down to the basement and hooked up. Cleaned up the house. Figured out how to test the wiper motor on the van to see if it was the motor or wireing. It was the motor. Figured out how to take the thing out of the van too.

Sunday - went to the junkyard found a Nissan Quest and pulled the wiper motor out, took it home and hooked it up and we have window wiper-age again. Then spent the rest of the night listening to great local music, Tribal Rising included, at the Earth Center for the Arts coffee house...

Ahh... earned my keep this weekend :)

Tribal Rising closing out the night at the Earth Center for the Arts

Score! Two wooden tech decks for the price of one...

I had $10 left on a Target gift card and stopped to replace my lost wooden techdeck. I found them to be on sale for $4 instead of $9 :)

Found this Seasonal Magic Hat Beer...

Vinyl Lager. Good stuff.

Got it....

I would have had to take the whole bracket out any way, there was a hidden bolt under it.

Took the whole thing out...

Just 4 ...

...nuts that I can't get a wrench on and won't stay put for me to get the bolts out to replace the motor. Grrr!

On to the windsheild wipers...

The internet says that if I unplug the wiper motor and the fuse doesn't blow, than its the motor that is bad. So after about an hour of fighting to take the cover off, figuring how to take the wipers off... I was able to unplug the motor and test it. The fuse held. So now I have to replace the motor. It doesn't look to hard...

Dryer in place and ready to work...

Now to take the dryer down these steps...

Nu dryer coming in...

Pretty much a pro at bleeding heating oil lines now...

...I'm cheap and I give service with a smile :)

Good thing I am in half decent shape...

I had to run at least a half mile to Giant from the train station to beat the downpour and thunder and lightning...

Coupled...

Waiting for the loud uncoupling. If you've stood here you know what that sounds like.

Yea for me...

I get to bleed the furnace fuel line again.

Pushed hard to make it to the train today...

It was drizzling when I got up and the van windsheild wipers died. I tried to fix them but the fuse kept blowing out. That left me with less than a half hour to bike to the train. The rain stopped and I pushed hard ( the chain even popped once ). - made it to the station with a couple minutes to spare...
